Starting up in the beginning of '99 as a resistance to the whimpy music scene in their shitty hometown Skärblacka, The Nifters quickly got things going. Consisting of members from local punk and rock bands, inspired by the Scandinavian rock scene and influensed by AC/DC and ZEKE, just adding some FU MANCHU, the band earned reputation as a great live act. During the fall of '99 the first and only promo tape 'High Quality Punk Rock' was recorded which all over received great critic. In underground fanzines as well as the leading Swedish punk/hard rock magazine Close-Up they were compared to acts as ZEKE, THE HIVES, CELIBATE RIFLES and THE STOOGES. This demo also resulted in a record deal with Scooch Pooch Records who's putting out the debut full length 'Riding Shotgun'. While improving their live performance The Nifters have supported high class acts such as BIG ELF, PUFFBALL, THE TURPENTINES, HYMANS and THE ROBOTS..
