Guitarist and leadsinger Peter Vegem (
a.k.a Pete Evil) formed the band together with bassplayer
Lars Guldbarndsen ( a.k.a Zugly ) back in 1997. The band released
some great 7 inch singles on various independent labels and
appeared on a bunch of more or less obscure compilations.
The word spread quickly about the fresh and rather snotty
new band from Oslo and in 1998 they signed a deal with the
swedish label White Jazz Records. The brilliant minialbum
"Troublemaker" followed shortly after in 1999.
Time passed by with much touring and mayhem,
but in 2000, after the recording of the album "Making Out
With Fire" the band more or less fell apart as all members,
except Pete, decided to call it a day.
Refusing to let Hellride rest in peace,
Pete soon hooked up with three fabolous Oslo based swedes.
The mighty line up of Hellride is:
Peter Boström - Lead Vox/Bass
Pete "Evil" Vegem - Lead Gtr/rBacking Vox
Claes Engström - Lead Gtr/Back Vox
Kenneth Vidjeskog - Drums,Percussion & Backing Vox
It's a perfect match! The new line up provided
tons of new energy, selfesteem, plenty of attitude and of
course last but not least, a bunch of new, great tunes.
Hellride started off with touring in Norway
and with good reviews in the press together with great enthusiasm
from friends and fans people once again started to talk about
the band everyone months before had written off as splitted.
After a few gigs the band took another
big step forward as they decided to let the new bassplayer
Bosse also take care of the lead vocals. This turned out to
be the last magic touch the band needed and the new sound
of Hellride today is worth pure solid gold!
Hellride toured Europe in 2001 and received
nothing but thums up, intoxication, and great reviews in every
city in every country. Hellride live on stage happens to be
an unbelievable blast of raw rock 'n roll, sweat and power!
Hellride delivers the goods!
As for now the band are currently working
on their next album in Studio Fredman in Götheburg, Sweden
together with engineer Fredrik Rheinedal. The outcome of this
session will make the earth move!
